Grande Pines Golf Club in Orlando
Located on International Drive just north of Walt Disney World is Marriott's Grande Pines Golf Club. The course opened in 2003 and sits on the former site of the International Club, a Joe Lee design from 1986. The new course, designed by Steve Smyers and player consultant Nick Faldo, is entirely different and heavily shaped, full of large mounding, some water and severe bunkering.
Grande Pines G.C. is a walker-friendly design that is a Certified Audubon Sanctuary course, and is a member of Marriott Golf's Walk for Health program, where you can substitute a golf cart for a Bag Boy walking cart.
The golf course is located across the street from Marriott's Grande Vista Resort, which is home to the Faldo Institute and a smaller nine-hole course of its own. Grande Pines Golf Club has its own clubhouse and driving range with practice greens.
