Located minutes away from Orlando's airport, the North Shore Golf Course offers a Carolina-style championship course that employs two different layout styles to create a unique and challenging course. The front nine is more modern while the back nine is done in a classic style. The front nine holes are more open and they play through native marshland. The back nine has more wooded areas consisting of century old oak trees, putting an emphasis on shot accuracy. The fairways are gently rolling and lead to large, undulating greens that are quite fast. Water hazards come into play on 12 holes. The North Shore Golf Course has three sets of tee boxes to accommodate all golfers.

Hello, I normally do not write negative reviews, but my experience at North Shore Golf Course has been compromised. I live in the North Shore community, I’ve been a member of North Shore golf club off and on for the last 7 years, I’ve run a Friday men’s group at NS and I’ve played golf at NS since it’s inception 20 years ago.

First and foremost, the course is in the worst shape I have ever seen. It’s turned into a goat track. The fairways barely have a sprig of grass. The local groups with 24-50 golfers that play nearly everyday of the week, play lift clean and place everywhere. The management is rude and demeaning, and their attitude is equivalent to the condition of the fairways and tee boxes. The greens which are typically in great shape are full of mushrooms, weeds, and dead spots. Sad to see.

My personal experience with management is extremely disheartening. Recently, I was diagnosed with Covid 19, instead of management reaching out to me via phone, email, or text, to wish me well and come up with a plan to return to the clubhouse I frequent 52 weeks out of the year, for the last 10 years. Management, made the decision to embarrass me in front of customers and employees.

After my 14 day quarantine, I chose to walk the golf course, not ride in a cart, but walk the course with my push cart. After 9 holes it began to rain, typical summer thunderstorm in Florida. I sought shelter under the awning outside the clubhouse. During the lightning storm management came outside to berate me in front of its employees and paying customers. I was told to leave the property immediately. I asked incredulously, “you want me to walk out into the lightning storm?” His answer was to leave the property, that I was going to infect him and his staff. An argument ensued as I was not about to walk home in the lightning.

Lastly, I went in to speak with management last Friday about my experience and I was told “They don’t want to talk about this right now.” That’s my recent experience at North Shore. The course is in extremely bad shape with extremely poor leadership.
